Please read through the common problems &
their solutions below before making a maintenance request.
If your toilet clogs, you can normally clear the problem using a plunger. If you don't already have one, you can purchase one from most any hardware store or big box retailer.
Press the plunger over the drain hole and work it up and down to push the clog through the pipes.
If your sink, bathtub, or shower clogs, you can also try to clear this with a plunger. Many hardware stores also sell drain cleaners you can snake into the drain to pull stubborn clogs out.
If you lose electrical power in your rental home, call your utility company before making a maintenance request. The electric company will be better able to help you troubleshoot the issue.
Hot Water Issues
If you don't have enough hot water in your rental home, check the settings on your water tank. Does everything look accurate? You can try to cycle the system to reset the defaults if necessary.
Heat and A/C Outages
If your heat or air conditioning isn't working properly, check the settings on your central thermostat before making a maintenance request. It's surprisingly easy to accidentally change the controls and impact the system.
You can also try to cycle the system on and off to resolve the problem.
